MARKETING MANAGER: OSC LIMITED – OUTDOOR GROUP 

The OSC Outdoor Group is a sextet of specialist brands dedicated to inspire participation in outdoor activity for everyone.

The group owns Sprayway, Trekmates and Go-System, which together with distributed brands - Adventure Food, Oboz Footwear and Zempire Camping Equipment complete a comprehensive portfolio of outdoor apparel, equipment and accessories.

An outstanding opportunity now exists for a creative and highly organised individual with a passion for the outdoors to join our Manchester based team. Reporting to the Brand Director, you will lead the creation and implementation of the marketing strategy that drives the development of the Outdoor group brands both in our domestic and global markets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To work closely with the Brand Director to determine the strategic objectives for the marketing department in order to support business development in line with the brand plan.
  • To produce a detailed annual budget designed to achieve the objectives set out in the marketing plan, working within the constraints of the overall marketing budget.
  • To lead the development of all aspects of the brand(s) image and to act as brand guardian ensuring consistent delivery across all markets internationally.
  • To develop and maintain a close working relationship with group distributed brand businesses, ensure activity meets supplied guidelines to maximise return on co-operative marketing activities / opportunities.
  • To manage the delegation of areas of responsibility within the marketing team, giving clear direction with regard to timelines and performance expectations.
  • Lead the creation and delivery of go-to-market tools and communications including international trade shows and workbooks.
  • To develop specific consumer-focused campaign action plans and to oversee the delivery of these campaigns to achieve targeted outcomes.
  • To develop and maintain a close working relationship with retailers and to maximise the return on co-operative marketing activities / opportunities.
  • Build tactical partnerships with individuals and organisations and ensure these are leveraged to deliver tangible benefits to the brand(s) / product image.
  • To routinely measure and assess performance of all marketing activities, personnel and agencies with respect to effectiveness, value for money and return on investment.
  • To research and evaluate the business environment from a marketing standpoint considering strategies and tools for both B2B and B2C operations
  • To research and evaluate current and emerging channels of communication and wider media developments.
  • To ensure the brand positioning, consumer awareness, consumer perceptions and market share data is secured where appropriate and available.
  • To direct, motivate and develop staff to achieve agreed objectives

ABOUT YOU

  • Passionate about the outdoors
  • Has a strong knowledge of the outdoor/action sports industry
  • Educated to degree level, preferably with a marketing related qualification
  • Has at least 3-5 years commercial experience in a marketing or a marketing related role including experience of team and project management
  • Highly organised, able to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • A team player with a hands on approach
  • A strong communicator with the ability write and create engaging copy and content

LOCATION

This is a permanent, full-time position based in Hyde, Greater Manchester with some home-office working. We operate a hybrid working scheme requiring you to be in the office 3 days per week.

In addition to this we offer a range of other benefits including a company pension scheme, healthcare and a generous staff discount on clothing and equipment across the Bollin Group portfolio.

Some travel both within the UK and abroad can be expected as well as some weekend working

MARKETING EXECUTIVE: OWN BRAND – OUTDOOR GROUP 

The OSC Outdoor Group is a sextet of specialist brands dedicated to inspiring participation in outdoor activity for everyone. 

The group owns Sprayway, Trekmates and Go-System, which together with distributed brands - Adventure Food, Oboz Footwear and Zempire Camping Equipment complete a comprehensive portfolio of outdoor apparel, equipment and accessories. 

An outstanding opportunity now exists for a highly organised individual with a passion for the outdoors to join our Manchester based team. Reporting to the Group Marketing manager, you will assist in the creation and implementation of marketing campaigns that support the development of owned brands Sprayway and Trekmates. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Work with the group marketing manager to create seasonal brand marketing campaigns that are in line with the brands objectives and guidelines 
  • Work closely with the brands design teams as well as our own territory sales teams and distributors to identify key product stories and requirements 
  • Ensure that all outputs are produced to set brand guidelines, agreed budgets and deadlines 
  • Manage the production and delivery of all trade and consumer print materials 
  • Take a lead role in organising and attending both consumer and trade events 
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of POS and in-store merchandising 
  • Develop strong working relationships with distributors, retailers, athletes and partner organisations 
  • Manage the PR activities of the brands including creation and distribution of press releases / media communications and develop and maintain relationships with gear editors, key influencers and journalists 
  • Implement the brands advertising / media schedules 
  • Maintain and create content for brand websites and social media platforms 
  • Act as point of contact for web-based consumer product enquiries 
  • Maintain a detailed understanding of and be aware of trends in the marketplace that could impact upon the brands 
  • Manage and maintain UK showroom 
  • To carry out any other job-related duties which may be requested from time to time by senior staff 
  • To always behave as a good ambassador for the Group
