All fabrics offer some protection against ultraviolet radiation, which with over exposure can lead to sunburn, accelerated skin ageing and skin cancer. A UPF value rates a fabrics effectiveness at protecting against both A (UVA) and UVB light. This garment has been given a UPF rating of 50+.
