TGO - Best Buy
I've been testing many of these since before winter's heavy snowfall and, during that time, Sprayway's Compass shorts are what I've reached for most readily when heading into the hills. They're near perfect in their simplicity: mesh-lined zipped hand pockets, stretchy comfortable fabric, low weight, low packed bulk and innofensive average leg-length.
Preice-wise they put several other lower rated models in their place too. The inner waist has a band of moisture-removing fabric to combat chafing and, while there's no gusset, the breathable, wicking stretch fabric allows plenty of freedom of movement.
Would I change anything? Perhaps removing the internal, usually redundant security pocket; perhaps widening the hand pocket entry ever-so-slightly...Minor things really.
On the all-important fashion front, mentioned in the feature's opening column, these shorts also get partner Steph's stamp of approval - and what man would dare discount that?
