great value fleece
no frills basic mid layer that does the job nicely.
I use this fleece under my sprayway anikin pro goretex jaket and it makes agreat companion. combined with a thin base layer in summer or a thicker base layer in winter to add to it's versitility.
no zips on the pockets keeps bulk and weight down and it has a drawcord hem for adjustment.
dries quickly and easily and washes well.
This jacket gets used and abused for not only weekend walking trips but also it my go to fleece for walking the dogs and pottering about in the garden.
as i am a bigger guy ( 6' and 18st ) Sprayways xxl size in both this fleece and the goretex jacket i combine it with fit perfectly and give me enough room to add layers if needed without feeling restricted.
its good to see an outdoor clothing manufacturer that understands that larger people still require quality gear to enjoy the outdoors in.

Great Value
I bought this jacket as I needed something to take with me on holiday which would be completely waterproof whilst still being reasonably breathable. One of the things which attracted me to the design was the way the hood could be rolled up and fastened to the back of the collar. There is nothing worse than having a hood which is either difficult to use or else flaps about in the wind when it's not needed. The use of a strap held which fastens by using a popper proves to me that the designers at Sprayway have actually been out in a storm and know about the difficulties of trying to put a hood up quickly without the bother of having to take it out of a stand up collar.
In use the jacket is light and roomy. The way the arms are cut ensures that raising your arms doesn't leave your wrists exposed. The pockets are roomy and are angled in such a way that you shouldn't have difficulty accessing them when carrying a rucksack.. However, the inside pocket which is attached to the mesh lining is quite small and is difficult to open without putting a lot of strain on the mesh itself. Whether this leads to a problem with the lining giving way is yet to be experienced and may not be an issue. The only other criticism I have is unlike another reviewer I find that the jacket is a little too short to cover my bottom adequately. However, for the money and the choice of colours available the Santiago Jacket is very good value , well made and should provide a good level of protection during the summer months.

Which (Mens) Fleece?
While we may have explained to all of our members about the benefits of layering, and of interactive zips (guides to both of which can be found here) we feel we should absolutely clarify to everyone the versatility of our fleeces and waterproof shells.
Whilst all of our 3in1s will come with designated fleeces, our I.A jackets do not, and can be matched with different fleeces depending on your needs.
Please find below our visual guide to which fleeces match with which jackets!
You will also find this information on the relevant product pages!
